Tucked away at Caochangdi Art Zone, the project Beijing BANMOO Home is at the core about remodeling the large double-height skylit exhibition hall. It adds to the original structure a mezzanine spanning part of the whole expanse, giving the space another dimension. While serving to increase the practicality of the space, it guides natural light through to different floors, creating divers effects of light and shadows and, more essentially, materializing the spirit of the “sky well and hall of light” or inner courtyards within traditional Huizhou dwellings.

The whole space is like a vessel. The various elements in it – the furnishings, displays and installations – are, as it were, having a dialogue of space and time, out of which limitless possibilities can come to pass as spatial interpretations.

Beijing BANMOO Home is both a continuation and extension of the design philosophy the brand has been practicing for years, and the embodiment of its attitude towards life.
